Townhill Junior School Governing Body
From September 2020, Townhill Junior School re-established our own governing body. Prior to that, we were part of The Riverside Federation with our feeder secondary school Bitterne Park. As we had become part of the Reach Co-operative Trust together, the timing was right for the schools to once again have their own governing bodies. Some governors belong to the governing body of our feeder Infant school, which ensures there is continuity with regards to the governance for each of the schools.
Structure of the Governing Body
The governing body is made up of two sub committees:
- Achievement, Curriculum, Teaching, Personal Development and Inclusion Committee (ACTPI) chaired by Claire Hooper
- Personnel, Safeguarding, Finance, Attendance and Behaviour Committee (PSFAB) chaired by Carly Sweet
These committees then feed into:
- The Full Governing Body chaired by Jo Proctor (Chair of Governors)
